Srivilliputhur : Farmers are disappointed due to lack of basic facilities at the government procurement center which was started after 50 percent of paddy harvesting work was completed in the surrounding areas of Srivilliputhur.
Due to incessant rains before the onset of Northeast Monsoon in the surrounding areas of Srivilliputhur, the water level in most of the Kanmais has increased. As a result, paddy was cultivated in Srivilliputhur and Mamsapuram areas in a larger area than usual. Farmers were continuously demanding in the Grievance meeting that a paddy procurement center should be set up in Srivilliputhur.
