Srivilliputhur : A sudden fire broke out in Moovarivennan Gudaivari temple near Srivilliputhur last night.

In the village of Moovarivennan near Srivilliputhur there is a temple dedicated to Malaikolundiswarar Kudaivara. This temple was built a thousand years ago during the Pallavar period. This Kudaiwara temple is under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India. Near this mountain lies the Western Ghats.

A sudden fire broke out last night at the foot of the hill where this Kudaivara temple is located. The fire soon spread to the dry grass and trees on the hill. Resident fire department and villagers worked together to put out the fire.

Local residents said that the temple was not damaged in the fire.
