Chennai : The Power Board Union Joint Action Committee said: The Power Board is carrying out various actions including continuous layoffs, reduction of staff in electricity fee collection centers in violation of the contract.
From time to time, we have given various suggestions to the power board in the form of reports and letters. But there was no change in the board's action. More than 300 posts have been eliminated so far.
We have decided to go on strike to condemn the anti-labour activities of the Board. We have decided in the meeting held the day before yesterday that we will go to the office in the first week of March and sign and boycott the work. They said that the next stage of consultation will be held and the date will be announced.
